Airbags and Offroading
Airbags and Offroading
I'm planning to put a firestone airbag kit on the rear of my truck in the near future...I was just wondering if it's still safe to flex out the suspension with them on, will they extend enough to compensate for suspension travel?

My Keldermans would not give that much.
I had a simpler overload set of bags on my 76 gasser, they also would have been torn apart with a lot of off-road flex.
So, my limited experience would say not enough free movement for the extreme modified off road flex.
I have a pair of Firestone bags sitting on a shelf, they are designed to be solid bolted into place top and bottom.
OTOH, Some companies migh make specific extended travel air bags just for off road.

Hmm, maybe I'll have to run limiting straps or something then...I'm not going to be doing any extreme flexing but I did just lift the truck 4" in the front and I'm going to run an add a leaf and the bags in the rear, so I'll be doing some mild off roading in it.
