After hand wash, changing colors
Exactly what the title says. I hand washed my truck and when I go to rinse off the soapy bubbles. The blue truck now has a lot of gray. The paint is on its way out(pretty obvious). Strange though....some parts of the truck look great and the other parts, hood and roof are not so good. Every time I put a wash mitten on it, more of the blue falls off.

Did someone paint your truck with a roller and water base paint?
Sounds like you should keep it out of the rain! lol Glenn |
Time for a repaint, thanks to Chryslers less than stellar paint.
My '90 had almost no paint on the hood or the top of the cab when I got it. My '93 was losing most of the white paint on it's hood when I got it 8 yrs ago. There is some kind of problem with the primer not bonding with the paint above it after exposure to the elements. Scuff the primer and shoot new paint on it and it'll look pretty again. |
welcome to the wonderfull world of Mopar paint! Hey look at it this way, I hear suede is the new glossy.

Ah yes my little grasshopper
You also have "calico by Chrysler".[redface][laugh] And don't even think about picking up the pressure washer.[nonono]

The reason it does that is when these trucks were primed, they were baked too long so the primer got to hard before the paint was on. My truck is starting to peal on the fender, did a simple brush touch with clear and stopped the pealing for now. I plan on painting it when i go to tech school.
