Adjusting 4 Wheel Drive Light

How do you adjust it? I adjusted my linkage and now my light is not working right. There is nothing in my non-factory manual about how to adjust it.

Looking through the 91 manual just shows a switch on top of the transfer case. No adjustments.

Maybe you knocked the connector off/loose?

Unhappy

Same thing happened to mine. It would flash on and off while in two wheel drive. Did that about a year and then now it doesn't work at all.

how will you know if you are in 4x4 or not??? he he, It's gotta be something as simple as a backup light engagement issue. only the 4x4 isnt workign or gettign a connections. That light was the only thing not working on my truck when i bought it back in march. i still have looked into it! he he, jiMMy

Mine did the exact same thing. I replaced the switch and it didn't fix the problem. So I turned the ignition on (truck not running) and put a jumper between the two wires going to the switch - it "should" turn on the 4X4 light but it didn't. So I followed the wire back up to the next quick connector (near the rad) disconnected it there and put in a jumper and - the light came on. Turns out that the wires going to the switch were broken inside the wiring harness close to the switch. I made a replacement harness with some automotive wire and now it works perfectly. I forget how much the dealer wanted for the small section of the harness but it was a crazy amount.

Maybe you have the same problem.
