Ac compressor recommendations

I need a new compressor for my 1990 w250 it has the c171 compressor. Thinking of buying a whole kit from rockauto or somewhere comes with compressor dryer and expansion valve. I would probably replace condenser at the same time along with any hoses and refill with 134A. Any suggestions on brands, kits, or part numbers for upgraded parts? Any point converting to the SD709 compressor?

I would upgrade to a SD-709 Sanden compressor, I used to have problems with all of the C-171 compressors that I bought from the auto parts, I was even getting them dead and locked up out of the box and wanting over $600.00 for some brands.

The only thing you will need to convert to an SD in a new lower water outlet/ compressor mount, a few bolts, and of course the NEW compressor.

I made all of my own custom refrigeration lines using Aeroquip refrigeration hose and their specific fittings. So now if I ever do blow a line, I unscrew the fitting and screw on a new piece of hose.

Check post #5 to see how I made my custom C-171 to SD-709 hose set.
