What are some of the other symtoms? My truck was doing this this summer on a hot day towing on long haul in western ks.

It is a 5spd, new fuel filter, air filter, ect.. After being in the interstate for 4 hours , 103 outside, when I got on the exit ramp the AC kicked in and almost killed the engine. kinda messed around with the throtle and it reved back up. Had to leave the AC off in town or it would try to die all the time though.

On the way home similar heat and time situation it din't seem to pull up the hills as well when I was gettng close to home.

Hasn't done it since though.

From what i was "told" by injection services in TX the shutoff silenoid has to have at lest 7.8 V of power to it. This was for a 93 W350. Don't know if it will help but...Also mine would just randomly shut off, it turn out to be that the low rpm shake was breaking the contact on the silenoid. Replace all your electrical conections now so you don't have the same problem.

Orangevale Diesel (Orangevale, CA) is doing the work on it. They found metal bits under the fuel shutoff soleniod, indicating excessive pump wear. Supports the relationship to heat causing the problem. I'm having them install a BD-Power performance VE pump. It should cost me ~$1300 or so out the door. I'm also going to get a tach for the truck from them - will take the guesswork out of idle speeds.
Thanks all!
