'92 DRW Build Thread RWD

Day one. Actually, I've had this truck for about 3 years now. Ever since 1989 I've dreamt of having a Cummins powered Dodge. This one had about 260k on the clock when I got my grubby mitts on it and it's sitting at 275k now. It's my daily driver as much as possible. The truck has been down a couple times since I've owned it. First, the transmission needed help, then, the head gasket required attention. Minor issues otherwise. Paint fell off of course, cleaned up a bunch of wiring that a previous owner had woven together all over the place, and other little things too numerous to count.

I'm planning a thorough make over in the next several months. I have a pretty good idea where I'd like to end up, but I don't know how to get there yet. I hope I can get some advice and opinions as things progress. I'll try to figure out how to post a photo.

Later,
Aeron

Yes sir. It is a kit from Move bumpers. I did one for my buddy with an 07 Duramax too. We're gonna build a rear for him next week.

Cool I thought it looked like the Move bumpers I have seen advertised.

Yes. Posting pictures has been significantly made more difficult since the new format has been updated and applied. Can't post anything from my phone anymore. Hopefully that will all work out.

Clean looking ride. Converting to Cummins. Nice upgrade. There are quite a few cummins conversions on these boards with tons of valuable information. Oliver Foster has done a bunch of them, and a good brain to pick. Shout out loud enough, and he might just hear you to give you a hand.

Where to start? I was thinking something like a custom semi look. I'd like to lower it a little. Nothing too crazy, just enough to notice. Add a flatbed, tool box, auxiliary fuel tank, different mirrors, a slight increase in wheel size; what else? Wheels seems like a logical place to begin. Then set ride hieght and see where the bed lays out. I've been looking at all kinds of pictures for inspiration.

I like this truck. I would put a bigger headache rack on it.

This Ford has a look that catches my eye too, but there's something about it that's over the top for what I need.

That Ford is BearKiller’s. He’s got a 6BT in it and owns several other Dodge’s, or his immediate kin does anyway... He has really customized it for hauling.

While I'm not into Fords, that is a great looking example.

Meanwhile, I found these 3" drop control arms. What do you think?
upper control arm
lower control arm
