92 D350 Won't Accelerate Properly

We've just gotten the injector pump rebuilt and is supposedly set to factory specs. However the truck won't accelerate right, it will eventually get up to speed and go down the highway perfectly fine. Today we tried increasing the fuel on the pump, however that just made it idle way to low. We do know how to fix the idle. Its also running a tad bit hotter than usual about as hot as it gets while pulling a trailer.

If I had to guess I'd say the timing is retarded.

Pull the wire connection off the KSB and see how it goes.

Id pull the cap off the top of the pump and make sure the diaphram/fuel pin is moving freely. Also good time to crank the star wheel down. Make sure the fuel pin faces the correct direction too.

BTW, if you increased the fuel, the idle would go up so you would have to turn the idle screw to bring it back. You sure you went the correct way? Also what boost are you making ?

We didn't mess with the fuel we brought it to someone who said he thought that was the problem with the acceleration, we were looking on youtube and there was a video that mentioned if you increase fuel, idle will go up so i brought it up that he might have gone the wrong way so the idol would go down. However dad doesn't want to mess with the fuel for fear of a run away. We're not worried about the idol we know we can fix that we're more worried about the acceleration. And i have no idea how much boost it's making I dont even know how to find out.

Gotta have fuel to make boost to accelerate. I cranked my pump by cutting crimp off fuel screw and turning it in, also cranked the star wheel under the diaphram down and the torx screw on top the diaphram. Yes the idle jumped up, but simply turn idle screw back. Over 1 million miles with zero issue. 30 psi boost. Need to hook up boost gauge to see what its doing. If you do what I did, ABSOLUTLEY put a EGT gauge in, especially if towing.

you dont have to crank everything like I did. But give the fuel screw 1 turn and see if it helps, if it does crank it again until your happy. Btw, be sure you have no charge system leaks/blown IC hose etc.

The main fuel screw is the one you want to turn clockwise, you can do it with the motor running go about a half turn at a time then blip the throttle till the idle seems a bit fast then lock it down and adjust the idle down to where you want it, see if that helps. Well I see mopar2ya already said the same thing lol
