91 dodge ram speedo not working
 

Hey Ive been reading on here trying to fix my speedo and im stumped.

My speedo bouned around one day and then stopped working completely. But my trip and od still works fine.

I hooked my speed sensor to a drill and it shows its working. I plugged it back in and spun it with a drill and my trip and od were working. When i drive down the road both trip and od work.

I took the speedo apart and checked thos little gears ive read alot they get stripped. Both were perfectly fine.

any thoughts on whats going on here? Did a miss a fuse or something. I dont understand why the trip and od work but not the speedo.

it is probably the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) that mounts on the transmission. could also be the speedometer motor itself
