89 SRW 1 ton got weighed today

Have to run to the scrap yard today, and the truck got weighed going in and out,,,
5,720 lbs,
Only things to add weight, 1/2 tank of fuel, Alum tool box and about 200 lbs tools, and me, 165 lbs,
So that brings us to 5,355 LBS of cummins toting dodge.
Just in case you were wondering how much a SRW 1 ton 5 sp weighs.
Peter.

that seem awful low...my 95 chev ext cab long box 4x4 auto with the 6.5 turbo diesel in it weighed in at 6480 with 3/4 tank of fuel and me in it (160lbs). I believe the cummins weighs approx 600lbs more than the 6.5 so i dont know where you'd be saving all that weight...

Being 2 wd saves some weight right off the bat, I believe it to be correct, I hav my landrover discovery on a scale, and i knew what it weighed, and the scale was right! I have The basic 2wd truck, no power mirrors ect, just a good work truck, The bucket seats i added weigh a bit more than the bench did, so in reality i guess that it actually should be a bit less.

Weighed mine the other day and I went across the scales at 7,750 lbs.
I had 3/4 tank of go juice, and 150 lbs of me.
5,700 lbs sounds somewhat low, but I know 4 Wheel drives are heavy.

FWIW, on a certified scale (portables like the DOT has , I have a set) my truck (95) weighed in at 6300lbs, Apoc's 93 250 4x4 CTD (with plow gear still installed) weighed in at 6280 lbs.

Believe you me, an axle, t-case, bigger tires and an extra driveline don't weigh an additional TON!!!

They'll add 12-1500lbs.

I had a 91 nonIC, reg cab pickup dually, 2wd with a 5spd. Weighed right at 5000, I think. The 92 in my signature weighs 7180 with me and my tools out of it, about 3/4 tank of fuel. Mom's 92 (identical to mine, except reg bed and auto) weighs 5500.

Non intercooled trucks have a 6" frame; intercooled trucks are 8".
I can get my truck down to 6100 with half a tank of fuel and removing the sway bar, spare tire, skid plate, jack, tailgate and hitches. Normally my truck wieghs around 6700.

If I cleaned out all the tools and stuff behind and under the seat, I might be able to get it down under 8000...
