89 fuel heater

Does anyone make a threaded piece to get rid of the fuel heater on a non intercooled engine? I live in southern AZ so i don't need a heater and i am really tired of mine seeping and loosing prime( if it sits for a week i need to work the lift pump lever) and the side of the filter is damp.at any rate it need's to go. I was going to cut the center out of mine and reweld it but if i can find one done!! Any Help??:(

I had the same situation you are having.

My leak started when the whole mess un-screwed with the fuel-filter, on the side of a busy road; after that episode, it leaked intermittently, sometimes a seep, and sometimes a flood, constantly running down the sides of the filter.

I removed the heater and swapped the stud = no more leak.

The extra inch of clearance was also a plus, as I use the much longer FS1221 filters.
