89' D-250 Rotor Size

I went to purchase rotors and pads for my 89' D-250 tonight and they needed the front axle weight rating. the common ratings are 3,300, 3,800 and 4,000 lbs. After looking at the catalyst sticker on the drivers side door frame, it has the front axle rated for 3,830 lbs. With this, I would assume I should go with the 3,800 rated rotors. Does anyone know the proper diameter rotors for this truck? What has worked for you?

Rotors might be the same size..but the size of the bearings will be the difference. You should have "Big" bearings for your rotors, the others will have small ones. If it wasn't so late I'd measure the small ones I have in the shed....maybe tomorrow?

How is the axle weight really determined? The only number I have for the front end is a GVWR number I think that is 3,830 lbs. That is why I bought the 3,800 lb rotors but don't plan on replacing them until next weekend so I have time to return them to get the 4,000 pound ones.

Okay, sounds good. The guys at Bumper To Bumper took a look and found that the 3800 lb rotors I bought are good for both 3800 and 4000 lb axles.
