How do i adjust the bands on my a518. it 4x4 and a 92. what are the torque specs and can i get some pics maybe. also do i have to pull the pan???

 

the rear band you have to pull the pan.

This is from the factory service manual:
"tighten adjusting screw to 72 inch pounds then back off adjusting screw exactly 2 turns. While holding the adjusting screw torque the locking nut to 35 ft. lbs."

 

like archer said. I usually snug adjuster then back off two turns and tighten jamb nut. Too tight and i can show you pics of what breaks.

 

So what breaks?

probably the apply lever or strap. the stock ones are not that strong when ever you upgrade your valve body it is recommended to get a stronger lever, strap and anchor.

 

Yep, the lever in three pieces. 100 mile tow. Put the accumulator spring back in and lightened up the band pressure, so far so good.
