4x4 front brake rotor?

Is the front rotor part of the hub or is it serviceable separately?

I was expecting to replace the hub and rotor ASSEMBLY but all the parts stores are trying to give me a rotor only.

Is the rotor pressed on separately? I swear last time I needed one, it was the whole assembly.

you can air-hammer the studs out and they will separate.

they are separate, that hub is uber expensive too... and only if your truck is seriously rusty do you need an air hammer, put the assembly on a block of wood and a good old BHH will work just fine.

i like the air hammer because its easy, doesnt smoosh the end of the stud and its what i use to put the assembly back together.

im sure you can use a normal hammer but its just so easy with air tools lol

yeah i like to use a brass hammer, and it is a pita to get the studs back in if you don't have the right size punch(and steady aim).

Same here. I use a 2# brass sledge that works just fine.

Got it done today. Easy as pie. Brass drift to get the studs out and an steel one to put them back in with. Now I just have to retorque the lug nuts a couple times a day to make sure they stay tight and the studs are seated.
