4" exhaust ?

I'm going to need an exhaust soon. I have an exhaust brake. Is it worth the effort to go with a 4" down pipe with a stock turbo and the brake? Is it worth going to a 4" after the down pipe? Its a tow/work truck but the 4" is not much more $$ than stock. My down pipe is still OK. Thanks.

i think stans muffler is the best price for exhuast. your stock exhuast is VERY restrictive you should feel all the dents in your exhuast

Most of us that have up graded to a 4" exhaust sytem have seen on average of a 100 degrees drop in EGT's at WOT.

As far as I am concerned it is a worth while up grade. Later on if you go to up grade your turbo to a S300 or something close to it in size you all ready have the 4" system it needs.

I run a Rip Rook 4 inch from the Exhaust brake back and throughy enjoy having it. As stated below EGT drop is a plus. The engine really seems to breath better also.

Do you have a 4" down pipe with the Rook system?

I had mine turned out before the pass. tire for a while. Only thing I didn't like was that it turned the wheel black. It looked good and was no louder than behind the tire. Only reason not still that way I went to a bigger turbo and just have a temp exhaust that ends under the cab. Its very loud! I hope to have a 4" -5" fab'd up soon.

Mine's 4" all the way back from the turbo from Stans. It freed it up and sounds great.

you can also do the exhaust yourself. I bought a bunch of 4 inch tubing at napa and some clamps and stuff and was able to do my exhaust for like 150 bucks. Some probably wouldnt agree with doing it yourself but I like it just fine.

Did you have to do any modification to make it work with the exhaust brake? Thanks

No mods done. The only little this I did do was use the stock mount for the exhaust to the bellhousing.
