4" Downpipe

When is it truely worth it to install this mod? What are the benifits of this downpipe vs. stock? I am getting ready to install my 5" stacks on the truck and still have the stock downpipe and Turbo housing.

I do have a good background in turbo charging as I race a turbo charged car at the track. But to me I want to know that it is going to help my cause. I dont buy stuff just to say I have it.

All responses are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I went straight to a full 4" exhaust with just an ATS manifold, 16cm housing, and a turn on the fuel screw. I'm not sure if it is necessary but my temps are pretty cool and the sound is great little more power as well. Worth the money to me.

100* drop in temps is a common occurance of a 4" DP install. It's a good mod for future pump tweaking.

IMO, it's only necessary and worthwhile when you upgrade to a bigger charger that requires the use of a 4" downpipe (hx40, s300 etc).

Here is what I am thinking if I do it.

From this it will go into a flex pipe and then into the stack system, which is 4" as well.

my egt's were toasty before my s300 and stans exaust and they are still toasty now. Seems to take longer for them to get to 1400 but still does.
