37's with a 2" lift?
Looking for a little more highway friendly gearing than my current 3.54's and G360 with stock 32" tall tires.
My last '93 W250 had a G360 and 3.07's and was great for Montana's speed limits (80 MPH +).
Not really wanting to swap axles, I started looking around for taller tires. Put the tape measure on some ancient 7.50x20's on our 1938 Chevy and they look like just the tire I need - 7.5" wide and 37" tall (want to stay skinny for handling characteristics and mileage). Surprisingly, there are a few decent options out there for 7.50R20's.
Right now I have a home brewed set of front springs that gave me about 2" over what I think is stock (about 3 1/2" over the sagged out factory springs) and the flatbed in back has plenty of room.
Obviously your typical fat 37" mud tire would rub like crazy with only a 2" lift, but how about some skinny pizza cutters?

Back with my old 92 I stuffed 37x13.5 on 10 inch wide rims with no lift and trimmed fenders. Trimmed 2 inches of the bottom of the fender openings, and blended the fender lip towards the top. With a little bit of metal work you can get the inner guards to bolt up without much trouble. At full stuff with the wheels turned it rubbed a little, but under normal driving conditions it never rubbed. Cheaper than a lift, and in my opinion looks way better
If 13.50's will fit with fenders trimmed like mentioned, those skinny tires will fit without rub with a little trim

I had 9.00R16's on mine at stock height (sagged) for a while. They were mostly worn, but only barely contacted the front fender corner on compression when steering.
