360's. How safe in a first gen?
Ok so here is your 1st problem.. you are Trying to justify doing this..
One I guarentee if you do this at any of those locations and a cop sees you he will fine you or arrest you.
and yes this is just as bad as street racing..
and for you to STATE: others do it so why can't I.. that just shows your ignorance..
My suggestion is to STOP doing this unless it is on your OWN PRIVATE land..

I'm sure that if he wanted to hear that he could just go to the local police station or motor vehicle office and ask their opinion on doing donuts...how is this just as bad as sstreet racing??? I've never seen anyone try to do donuts at 100+ mph through wal mart parking lot LOL. I've seen similar topics to this on quite a few different sites and there's always people that have to throw in their 2 cents about how they feel it's sooo wrong and they better stop right now or else hahaha. It's not like he's saying "hey I go out and get drunk and do donuts in public while blindfolded, what do you guys think of that" .

and yes to the people yapping at me- i'm well aware of all the fines that i can get for doing it. i just was asking how easy it is to roll one and what it is i am feeling that makes it feel like it bounces around.
I know in my county, here in Texas, street racing is an arrestable offense. But it does go to an unnecessary extreme.
If a cop sees/hears you simply revving your engine, it falls under the same category and can arrest you and impound your vehicle. Just for revving!! You can be in a vacant lot by yourself and get nailed.
Sometimes I wonder when and where common sense and laws collide.

Want to rev your engine, fine. Go to the dragstrip. Want to do donuts? Fine, go to a farmer's field. But keep that nonsense away from me and my family. I'm not interested in it, and should not be subject to it in public places under any circumstances.
JMHO.
What about a gasser that has to do it to stay running when cold? Where does the line get drawn? Maybe someone has to rev the cummins to keep it running... oh well.
As long as youre careful dean, I dont think youre going to bother anyone but yourself.

I think it would be fairly hard to roll a stock height pickup with doing a 360, as long as you keep the wheels spinning good. If they start to bog down or you catch a curb, thats a whole different story. Actually a posi is better for donuts. As far as hurting the pickup I think it would be ok, its a Dana 70 for pete's sake, the wheel bearings can take some side load. I have a 85 f250 that is strictly a field truck and I use it to take out aggression. I have spun some pretty hard donuts in a chisel plowed (very easy to sink in and catch) field and have felt pretty safe. The inside wheels get a little light when you dig in hard.
That being said I wouldn't do them im my dodge unless it was icy. Tires$$$$
I have a tendency for attracting legal attention anyways.

Your not going to roll the truck. I do donuts in the offroad truck all the time, the hood sits 4.5-6 feet off the ground. no problem. can even lift the front inside tire off the ground.
Fish tails will **** OFF the cops... almost got nailed for that once.
Living in cali I only spend a few months a year on Icy roads, but when I find them i will usually toss out about 1 fishtail / hour so that i can practice for the "just in case"

I've been in some uncomfotable sideways situations before that I came out of safely. I attribute this to a little "Practice"
