2wd convert to 4wd or strait axle???

i hav a 89 D250 cummins 2wd and after looking around have found that theres really no good way to get any height outta the truck so, only ideas are find a strait axle setup or just convert the whole thing over to a 4wd setup. wondering what would be the best route to take, anyone done it befor? whats a good axle to put in the front? anyone know if a front end off a 4wd 1st gen will fit right up with a lil fab work done?

any help, advice or sites that help would be great thanks

you will need a dana 60, a np205 transfer case or anything close to that custom crossmembers, possibly a transmission to hold the transfercase depending if it's it's and auto or not manuel u could get an adpater for the transfercase, then you will need the steering setp up from the dana 60 whitch should come with it, shakles for the rear and front mounts for the leafs, it will be a big jog and aint cheap for the dana 60 or np205 they can get pricy inless someone dosent know what they are selling.

If you just want a better front axle/suspension, you can install the 4x4 front axle without a transfer-case.

If desired, you can even gut all the gears, axles, etc., leaving only the housing and hubs.

Take your cab, nose, and bed and set it on a newer 4X4 frame.
