It gave me some ideas while completing mine. I did want the buckets to slide independently however. Here's a brief rundown of what I did
1) Used lower part of 1st gen. Mounting brackets with 2 pieces of 1.5 " square tubing a cross to make seat frame but notched front of bracket 7/8" to lower seat and have less rearward slope.
2) Center consol raised 1.5" by welding square tubing across and bolting consol to it.
3) cut 2nd gen. Mounting brackets (removed everything below bottom of lower sliding rail)
4) Fabbed seat mounting brackets by drilling holes in flat bar and welding in bolts then grinding bolt heads near flush.
5) welded seat mounting brackets to bottom of slidi rail and installed seat to fabricated seat frame.
6) Installed seat assembly as one piece unit (heavy - need 2 people to position)

Positioning worked out well. I,m 6'3" and my wife is 5'8" and it fits us both well, it is very comfortable and the consol puts your arm it a great position for shifting. But best of all I now have legroom when my wife drives.

Hey that fits better than I thought it would in a standard cab. I may go that route after all thanks for posting the pictures.

Thanks, I should of took some more pictures along the way. I believe its key to lower the front to get a proper fit. I've added a couple more picture so you can see a little better what I did.
Good luck with your install.

I am only 6'3" tall (rarely say that as "only" but appropriate here) and my stock seats SUCK. I am not looking for second gen seats myself, will do this write up! I think I want the seperate adjusting, it is an extended cab so I need to get behind the seats too!

I've got a set of 3rd Gen Ram power seats ready to go...been sitting in the shop at least 3 years now waiting for me to get off my butt to install them. Will start a new thread when I eventually get to it.

Great write up for the 2nd gen seat. Gotta do something with mine. I'll be watching for your 3rd gen seat write up to see how it compares.
