2nd gen fuel heater
I am getting ready to install the 2nd gen fuel filter heater on my 93 W250. My 93 didn't come with a factory fuel heater. I am wondering - what kind of tool will I need to remove the fuel spud? Is there a torque spec for the fuel spud? I currently don't have my FSM handy : ( Also; does the fuel heater plug into the WIF (water in filter) connection? Lastly; would anyone happen to know of a NAPA part # for the metripac male/female plug connections. I searched the NAPA web site, but couldn't locate a similar GM AC condensor connection. I want to try and avoid paying the $21.00 and change for the AC Delco connector.

I thought they all came with fuel heaters? Yours may have been removed?

Thrashingcows,
thanks for that link on the 2nd gen heater install! I guess the PO of my 93 removed the heater at some point. |
I used a big screwdriver on the spud and it came of with no problem. I barely turned it and then spun it off with my hand.
Let us know how it turns out. I have the same parts inbound at the moment as well. |
BigBully,
I thought a large flat head screw driver might be the ticket - for the spud. Thanks for that info! I hope to install the 2nd gen heater sometime this week. |
