1993 dodge d350 cummins idles fine but hesitates and backfires an smokes while reving

Me and my brother replaced the injector pump with a new reman and it still did this with the old one but either way the old one had to be pulled to replace ksb seal on the block side of pump and we have the timing marks aligned perfect and the injector pump key did not fall out going in with it we had the front cover off the engine to tell that and injectors also tested good an the pump was set on its timing mark its got no holes in any lines and its got a good lift pump an fuel filter we've already tried an electric fuel pump and no difference let me know but no stupid answers read all that was said here.

Its a diesel issue it burns your eyes

We also took it somewhere and they thought it got better as they pushed the pump toward the head to advance timing but said before it was all aligned and the gear key did not fall but as they were doing it they lost all power to the key and the dash i would like help knowing what that is. The lights work and the 4 ways and the door ajar but no key power to dash or column the neutral safety has been bypassed but obviously that wouldn't make you lose all your power. I know these trucks good to know that and alot of stuff but these two things have me stumped.

Did you check the valve clearance and the state of the rockers and pushrods?

I'd also suggest that you use the valve drop method to determine #1 TDC and check if the marks are still correct.

I cant give you a stupid answer because I have no idea what you are saying. Even a little bit of grammar will keep people from having to attempt to translate your posts.

Welcome to the forum , but, just a comment, this is the kind of comment the will result in "stupid answers". This is the tamest and best Cummins forum on the interweb and ""stupid"" answers are pretty rare..Mark

Agreed. I had to read this one about 6 times to figure out what was a statement and what was a question.

If I can cipher through all that un-punctuated rambling, I think you have a high speed issue with the engine and an electrical problem with the truck.

Have you done a blow by test on engine? I am betting your problem is due to: lack of, or low cylinder compression.

Like someone posted previously check you valve adjustment, could be a valve hanging open or not opening enough.

As for truck losing power, check your connections for the fusible links between the battery and firewall.
