1993 d250 5spd ext cab. interior project

Hey all, giving the old dodge a bit of a facelift. Ive done all the body work, now ive moved on to tackling the interior. Just a few things id like know...the carpet, where can i get good quality moulded carpet with the nice jute padding, keeping in mind that my trucks floor has the wide hump, to allow for a 4wd shifter if it was 4x4 truck. Thats the main thing i need to find out. The second thing is a split bench...id like to get a 40/20/40 split bench like whats in some of the newer dodges (2nd or 3rd gen ect.) with the fold down console, preferably with little mods needed lol. Does anyone have any ideas on these matters? Any feedback would be awesome.

cheers everyone.

ACC makes carpet Carpet

for the newer split bench start hitting the local J/Y's www.car-part.com to get a idea who has what

I have seen several 2nd gen seats in 1st gens. I also owned one and really liked it. It was way more comfortable and had storage and a flat surface to work. I think that this seat sits higher than a 1st gen and some have said its not great for tall drivers. Should be able to find one as there are lots of 2nd gens around. Need to modify the bracket and I think you can find that information in the "sticky" at the top of the forum.

Here's the 2nd gen seat in my club cab that's going in the crew cab. It was recovered using katskinz replacement leather covers.

They are dual electric and dual lumbar. Very comfortable.

Beautiful ^^ I have the same color interior and I'd love to know what color and brand paint you used on the plastic switch covers.

I have a 40/20/40 seat from an 06 chev in mine, i haven't built the mount for it but it is much better than the bench. It does sit higher and take up more room but still fits me at 6'. One thing to keep in mind is the newer seats have the integral seat belt which is nice but........this also means the existing seat belt mounts are not holding you in the seat anymore. The mounting of the seat is the only thing holding you in the truck so keep that in mind when building a new seat mount. If it isnt as good or better than the stock seat belt mounts then it isnt enough!!! Bolting the seat to the floor isnt enough, it would rip right out in an accident.

I am going to try and tie my mounting bracket into the stock seat belt mounting bolts aswell as to the floor.

Hi Crossy's son, I had the SEM Dye paint color matched to the door panels for a contrast to the leather. My local paint shop put it in aerisol cans for me. It was impossible to get an exact colormatched leather for the seats. But I think it looks pretty good too. Thanks.

Sorry for hijackin the thread.

The alum. door seal plates (both upper and lower) are still available from the dealer. Just replaced mine about a month ago. They aren't cheap, but they do dress up the interior.

I agree! Probably the best interior of any 1st Gen I've seen. They would sure look good in a black W350 that I know of. [laugh][laugh]

What did it cost to do a whole seat? Did you install them yourself?

How much work did it take to get them bolted down?
