1992 W350 Rear Axle
I have a 1992 Dodge W350 Dually with a flatbed on it. I have split the drivers side rear spindle where the threads are located. It has a 3.54 gear ratio.
I have checked with a guy who says he can fix the spindle it would be expense but it can be done.
I have located a 1978 Dodge Dully axle that came off an 1978 Dodge Motor Home it has 4.10 gear ratio. From what I can see the springs on my truck axle is spaced father apart that the ones on the axle from the motor home.
My question would this axle fit my truck, and can I change the gears in it? Can the springs be moved? What other years of truck axles and models will fit my truck?
Thanks All

all the pickup axles are interchangeable, class a chassis, not sure, measure the spring pads for boltup, and for dually your measurement will be drum wheel mount face to face for tire clearance, you got a pic of spindle damage? maybe its repairable?

Your truck will have a Dana 70. So to find a Dana 70 you will pretty much need a cummins powered truck from 89-93. The motor home axle will have to be measured and compared to your truck axle. If it's a dana 70 then 1st thing is good. Next is axle width. As stated you have to go off the drum face to drum face. Then the spring perch width.
If the face to face measurement is the same, then it should be easy enough to have the spring perches relocated....if they are different width. You should check out the costs of swapping gears as well...might be cheaper, or easier, to have your axle fixed?
Some guys swap in a 2nd Gen Dana 80. There is a write up or two around on the board. Might be in the Sticky?
