1992 d350 fuel leak

Going to remove the fuel heater n replace the o-ring. Any advice? Going with the Fleetguard fs1251 filter. Is there anything wrong with leaving the Water In Fuel sensor out? Also, need to replace the rubber booty on the tranny for the clutch; Q. Can i replace the rubber booty easily and does anyone know the part #? I do not like going down the road knowing that debris is getting in there because the old one has fallen out! Thank you for your help!

I can answer the question about the fuel filter. There's nothing wrong leaving the WIF sensor out. Since the FS1251 has a valve in it, it would be ideal to open it every so often to check for any water that may be present.

I'm not sure I know what rubber boot you're referring to.
