10#'s of boost is all i can get
10#'s of boost is all i can get
Truck is a 91.5 4x4 with what i imagine is original auto tranny, if it has been rebuilt it was not by me or previous owner. Only mods so far are an adjustment of the fuel screw.
I just got my guages in and took it for a test drive and boost is only getting up to 10 psi. Egt's are low not getting over 1000 at wot. so what's the deal. I was expecting at least in the mid 20's or so. we checked for leaks in the bellows and the intercooler and found nothing. I have heard of people in the mid teens but i think 10 is really low. Please give me some suggestions of what could be causing this. Thanks for the help.

My 90% stock truck puts out about 12 psi max and does not get over 1100* Check out the sticky about controlling a run away then start twisting up the fun screw!
Verify that there is no excessive slop in the throttle linkage that is holding you back from hitting WOT at the pump lever. I worked with a guy that has a '91 that he was complaining about low power and such.........we checked it out and with the peddle on the floor the pump was only making slightly better than 3/4 throttle on the pump.
have you turned the fuel pin (if so are you sure in the correct direction)
here is the big one that had me the boost line that pushes the fuel pin down had broken on me and i was having a problem like that

I gained over ten PSI boost by simply removing an obstruction from the gauge-line.
It had sort of kinked where it entered a ferule and crud had accumulated in the kink; I clipped the kink off, re-connected the line, and the boost gauge went wild.
