“Water in fuel” + “Wait to start” combo
every summer it’s the same combo on HHH days when the a/c compressor is engaged and the truck isn’t moving (exactly when a/c is needed). is this combination of lights trying to tell the operator something? engine temp is normal, so perhaps it’s stressing the electrical system? I don’t like idiot lights that recur in a predictable pattern...

definitely the added load to the electrical system
ran the truck home with no a/c and was hot but had no issues with flashing dash lights
is this an issue that would be solved with the use of relays? Jim Lane's recent thread is highly technical but I'll take another crack at understanding it

Do the lights come on steady or do they flicker.
My WTS light would flash on-off-on-off sometimes and I found the connector to the air temp sensor was flaky. I tightened it a bit and no more problem. As for the WTS light IDK.
There is a circuit that turns the lights on when you hit the starter which may be shorting out. If the line is shorted to ground it will turn on the lights in the message center and the brake warning light to test the bulbs. I posted the ignition circuit in the thread "Blower motor shutting off" which shows it for a 92 model.

Intermittent connections or shorts are a beast to find. One technique is to wiggle wires around and see if that has an effect. Also the copyrighted Dodge fist thump on the dashboard.
The fact that it happens to both lights at the same time points to the common problem of the test line. If it isn't happening EXACTLY the same to both lights then forget about the test line as a cause.
