Whos Killed a dead KDP

Yep thats right!
Since the trucks new to me I figured I better get it done since the previous owner of the truck just gave me a look when I asked if it was done. So I pull the cover to see the TST tab already in place. Owell at least I can sleep better knowing. I do have a question though, the instructions I have say the speed sensor should have .049 - .051 gap but I cheaked it before removing it and it was between .011 - .012? I dont know what to do here could it have been that far off and still ran fine or? Need some advice guys?

When I did mine, I just set it at the proper gap and had no problem. Sounds like the fellow who did it screwed up. I think it might have a hard time sensing rotation if it was too far away, too close and the only problem I see is possibly collecting debris.
Just set it to spec and sleep even tighter!

Thanks russ300h
Thats what I was thinking on doing but was hoping to hear some other peoples experiences with this. I checked 3-4 times figuring I was screwing it up but no way it was that tight?

I tabbed my 97's live KDP and made up a couple of stickers (one for the gearcase and one in the maint logbook)to indicate it being secured...
That is just in case my CTD outlives me , and my future son-in-laws hopefully will understand what "KDP tabbed at xxx,xxx miles" means...

I never checked my crank sensor gap before I tore my 95 down. I set it at the reccomended spec? 50th? or what ever TST said and no problems so far.
