Whats this? 12v turbo and exhaust manifold

Saw this Ford F-350 with a 12v Cummins at a farm sale. Had my camera so I got a pic. Where did this set-up come from with the turbo mounted like that?? Thanks,

I'm just guessing but it looks like the commercial manifold mounted upside down. The commercial mounts the turbo almost straight up.

I wish I could have got a better pic of the turbo. It was really hidden down below there. The way it was mounted the exhaust pipe appeared easier to run out of the turbo and under the truck. The HP/timing badge on the timing cover said it was a 160 HP motor. I wonder if the whole engine was a commercial engine out of a bus or something originally? You can also see the post-turbo pyro probe sticking out back there on the exhaust.

Commercial engines are easier to come up with, have more pulling power, and no EPA restrictions or systems.

We've got a low-profile medium duty Ford at work with a 5.9, the manifold is set up exactly like that.

edit: AFAIK the reason Dodge did not use that manifold is because they needed that space for the trans heat exchanger.
