What did I do ??

Today when I was driving I thought Iīd see how high RPM it would take before going in to overdrive with TC locked and WOT.
Well, I kinda didnīt see, because when it went from 3rd to OD everything just went nuts, the entire truck was shaking real bad, and as I unlocked the TC it kept rattling like crazy.
So I pulled over, shut it down and banged my head in the steeringwheel, convinced that I blew something up.
But finally, I popped the hood, no damage to be seen, looked under truck to see if tranny was still there, it was.
So I started it again, still shakyrattly, shut down.
Then I decided to try to get to a buddy about 3 miles away, started up, shakyrattly, shifting through gears shakyrattly, put in drive and easy on the throttle, little blueish puff of smoke and every thing juuust fine.

So....what did I do ??
If it was my converter slipping, why the blueish smoke, is it possible to shake the whole thing so bad that the govenor gets "seasick", it sure felt like running on not all cylinders, and that would explain the shakyrattly thing.

P.S. it runs just fine now, and Iīm not goona try it again.
Any ideas??

Is your plate slid all the way forward?
If so the governor arm probably got stuck under the plate.
Needs adjustment> http://www.pdrdiesel.com/oldsite/TechLeverAdj.htm

Plate is in stock location.

That could be it, that better be it, hope it is...makes sence.
But I never would have thought that the arm moved so fast, from WOT that it could just "fly off range".

Thanks infidel

Some time back I opened the AFC to check things out and found the fuel plate sitting at a 45 degree angle, one end all the way forward, both ends loose. I still haven't figured out where stock position is, but the truck runs great anyway.

I better take a look at that thing, maybe put that #8 in thatīs laying somewhere.

I drove 200 km in it yesterday, and it runs great, maybe it just needed a burp that day.

Dang thing nearly made me mess up my seat.

That sounds like what happened to me , pulling my 10,000 fiver and passing another fiver on a hill I used OD off and when I got along side and saw the other guy rocking in his seat, I hit the switch for OD and before the trans locked I dumped the fuel petal. That was a big mistake ,OD locked with a bang and the whole truck shook .I knew at that moment my stock TC was shot and slipping. I did still have enough left of the tc to pass him.But I could slip the TC with not much fuel. I replace the stock TC 52lbs for a single disk billet at 92 lbs and the slipping problems were gone. I did learn a lesson ,fuel it only after the trans shifts and locks lol.The billet single I installed makes the truck shift better and gets my truck and fiver up to speed much faster with 140 deg trans temps now, so it helped the trans run much cooler( which is good). My low stall single was built for 1700 / 500 hp and 1000 I think.

I was pretty sure I blew my TC, but it runs just fine now.

It is bone stock, so I know it doesnīt take the same beating as you, but it doesnīt slip, and even if it was TC-slipping, it doesnīt explain the blueish smoke when I took off.
