water pump?

my 98 just started pouring coolant this afternoon, it happened all of the sudden.
It looks like its coming from right behind the water pump, checked the hose connection, it's tight. Is there anything aside from the pump that it could be? Or is that it, it just went all of the sudden?

Sounds like the water pump. They're not that difficult to swap out yourself.

theres a weep hole on the bottom side of the water pump that you cant see

its the pump, super easy to replace. Mine went out last month and I lost all my water- and once the water was gone my gauge sunk over to cold!! Not good! Glad I knew better and pulled over asap, I shot the block with my IR thermometer that I carry for EGT temps, the block was at 316F [yuk] right next to the big 53 but still idled perfectly-- hope everything is ok. I will take a video of how much slop is in my old pump- doesn't even turn anymore as the blades are hitting the block casting.

This is a little worrisome........why wouldn't the gauge register? Figured the metal around the sending unit would get it pretty warm. How is the engine running today......300+ seems pretty hot, surprised some of the oil didn't hit it's smoke point. Also didn't know 53 blocks went all the way back to 95. Hope you drive away from this without issue.

After that happened I had my friend tow me to my fathers house where we have a large shop and I started tearing it down to the point that I would have to replace everything (killer dowel pin and hooking the Ebrakes up to the disk axle) that I keep processioning on (see PM) I have been working 12 hour shifts at work so the truck still sits completely tore apart.
The trucks Gauge swung back and forth from ice cold to just before the red, so I think hot water was randomly splashing past the sensor.

The sensor reads the coolant, no coolant, all it can read is ambient air, surprisingly, not that hot.....

Be sure to buy a good one. I bought a Napa & a Carquest both failed in 35K. Now I'am waiting for my electric pump to show up in the mail.
