No it does not creep to the floor. If it did wouldn't that be the mcyl?

 

I have had it happen. Fluid bypasses in the ABS unit. Light comes on after it drops so far and stays on.

 

Heh dguru, I am new to dodge diesel trucks and do not know exactly what the ABS unit looks like under the mcyl. I have a cigar shaped thing with a 4 wire plug on the bottom and a single plug on it's side. Is this the ABS Pump or is this the proportion valve? I was told the 97 does not have a pump but uses soleniods.

 

Just repaired my abs on my 95.It had the wire pulled out of the harness on the rear end plug.why don`t you do a test of this wire and see if it is not shorted? It goes from the rear end up to the frame behind the fuel tank and then to just under the cab by the drivers door(close to the body mount) check there with a long lead . my brakes are much better after I repaired this on my truck. I have added the one tone rear cylinder and they would drag the rear wheels with out the abs working . My .02 Harness is $63.00 pickup $36.00
