Why not just buy a 12v? I would imagine that by the time you have everything you need plus your investment in your truck, you could have easily bought a 12v truck and spared yourself all the headache. Just my opinion though.

fuel tank and fuel management system is different, wiring is different, intake and exhaust are different.
Find a wrecked truck and start swapping.[coffee] |

I am saying if you can do this for 3000.00 in a week end you must have superman helping you. I have done many conversions even though they have been on fords and chevys it will still cost more than 3000.00 My guess is no less the 4000.00 and easily 5000.00

I bought the parts truck for my Excursion for $2200.00. It had 120k. It took me a long time to put the 5.9 into the Excursion because almost nothing works without some modification. I think putting a 5.9 into a Dodge would be relatively easy.

The trans is the same inside and out and has the same bell. Should be able to buy all the parts and bolt the 12 valve in. You should be able to do it for $2500- $3000 at the most including the 12Valve with the prices they want at the junk yard around here. I would do it.

As to the swap - it can be done, and as others have said it's probably not too hard. I guess what's wrong with the V-10? I understand there's quite a following to these engines as well, perhaps it would be worth researching how much you could sell it for and pick up a different unit with the Cummins already in there. Just my $.02 good luck! |
