Turbo help!!

Ok I have not been able to check the turbo out yet, but when I step on the gas and the turbo spools up it sounds like a high pressure air leak, let off the gas and spools down the noise goes away. I have put it in Neutral and step on the gas nothing, I only here this noise in all driving gears and four weel drive.

Just gotta get in there and look. The boots (4 I think) connect to the tubes that carry the boost from the turbo to the intercooler. And next from the cooler to the intake. Look them over closely for rips/tares and tighten the clamps while you are in there. Afterwards, drive the truck and see if there is a change. Let us know and good luck.

You can make a cheap tester with a 4" rubber plumbing hose, a 4" ABS pipe plug and an air hose fitting. Drill and tap the plug, slip the plug into the hose and clamp it up. Remove the air hose on the turbo and clamp the tester on. Pressure it up to about 20 PSI and spray all the boots and connections with soapy water. Any leak will show up.

Havent found anything yet, but if the silencer ring broke inside the turbo would it make that noise? It sounds just like someone is leting air out of a compresser when I step on the gas.
