Transmission Cooler line Question?

The flexible rubber hose that connects to the underside of the water to oil transmission cooler is leaking. Im having a hard time finding a replacement part. Do any of you guys part #s / and can it be found elsewhere beside the dealership?

Thanks,

Dave

This is the one you want. It has the tee in it for a temp gauge and includes the whole steel line with the rubber section too. List at the dealer is $159. I just got mine yesterday.

Don't know any way to get one cheaper unless you have a "hose-man" near you. We have some locally that will "rebuild" your old line for you with new rubber. Something like that would probably be $60+

The cooling lines are very low pressure. You just need hose that can stand hot oil. Hose clamps and barbed fittings work fine.

hi
try having the hose replaced at a local autoparts that makes up a/c and hyd hoses , or go to a hyd hose shop to have one made .

some will use your old fittings and new hose .

Having a shop make one up is the way to go. If that is not an option, just do what Infidel suggests. I would look for hose that is called"transmission hose". Some of your better auto supply houses have it.

While pressure is not really a problem, heat can be. I believe transmission specific hose is rated to 300 degrees.

BTW, that rubber section contains a check valve. It is supposed to prevent the torque convertor from emptying when sitting. I removed mine and have not noticed any issues other than a slight decrease in fluid temps. Others report the same results. The check valve is smaller than the ID of the rest of the transmission hoses. KD
