Hey guys I’m having a problem with my 47re transmission.truck is a 1995 12valve. When I got the truck I knew it needed a torque converter so I changed the converter and I just put the trans back up in the truck and all set and when I started the truck and went to go to reverse it wouldn’t do it. And no matter what I do it only goes forward, I even got under the truck and unhooked the shifter from the trans and tried finding the gears by myself but it still won’t go into any gear it just wants to go forward no matter what I do. Any help Would greatly appreciated

 

This usually is because the rear band does not engage. Take a look at the rear band adjustment, and also look for wear on the drum.

You will need to drop the pan for this.
