Thumbs down Transfer Case Problem?

I was recently under my truck for a few hours when I noticed that there appeared to be gear oil on the bottom of my t-case. i never noticed it before, its clear and kind of smelly so I assumed it came from the Tcase. Is there any common things that go on these seals gaskets etc? And how much damage could happen?

Seals go bad, it might be the front or rear axle seals..

or the gasket around the T case, I have not had any issues with mine, i added lucas leakstop and all was well.... I just keep up with the fluid every oil change and change it every third oil change and have not had any issues with it...

i just did a resealing on our 97 here on the farm and so far dry as a bone outside. i used all new seals and red silicone for the case. like said if it is just alittle oil outside and the level doesn't move much between oil changes keep and eye on it and leave it alone.
