TPS Voltage
TPS Voltage
The dealer told me today my TPS voltage was high and needed to be replaced. They want $470 to do ! I thought that was pretty high . To me the truck doesn't seem to shift bad.
They also told me that the voltage can't be adjusted but I thought I read here that it could be?
Is this a serious problem or not? As I said the thing seems to shift OK , may creep a bit at idle with foot off brake but not real bad. Just worried if this thing will leave me on the side of the road somewhere. Will it continue to get worse? What do you guys do when you uncover this problem? Thanks for any advice.

Start by checking/adjusting the voltage yourself, don't trust the dealer.

When you turn off a switch, you open it. The light is off.
If you close the switch the circuit is completed. The light is on.
The same logic for a tps circuit. Look for loose or broken wire.
