TPS follies.
Earlier this year I replaced the TPS on my '96 with a unit made by BWD. It was made in the USA and immediately cured my truck from searching for gears. Within a month, the downshifts became rough. When I lifted off the throttle, there was an immediate downshift. I installed a new BWD unit on in April, and it also started acting up. I have the old factory one on it now. I guess I'll have to buy an OEM unit, but from who? The dealer wants over $400.00, although I've seen them for $260.00 on ebay. Mopar PN 04874412.

Great video Pat, and I will definitely check them. I replaced the oem unit because of "searching" for gears when cold outside. The BWD unit immediately fixed that problem, but after a couple of months, it downshifted like I was pulling the gear selector into a lower gear. I put the old oem unit back on, (it was warm outside by then), and that problem went away. The new BWD unit has been on for about 3 months and has started the crazy down shift problem like the other one. Sooo, I put the oem one back on. (BTW, that one was coming apart when I pulled it off!). The bushings are on the "I need to check" list. I don't want to buy something I don't need.
