Tps??

I have a 1994 Dodge Cummings and I have been told that my TPS maybe the cause to my problems. Would anyone be able to tell me where abouts the TPS is located?

Thanks

My trassmission seems to be downshifting at highway speeds and I was thinking it may be the TPS but I was not planning on replacing it I was just going to clean it.

You can try to clean it. If that doesn't work it's a Cummins part. Would probably be cheaper there than at DC.

You can buy a TPS at Napa or other autoparts. Last time I bought one it was $169 at Napa.
My experience in cleaning the TPS is that it is temporary at best and your time is better used buying a new one.

tps cleaning

I just cleaned mine recently. I removed it from the pump, melted a hole in the case using a hot finish nail and sprayed in electrical contact cleaner. Fixed it right up. Covered the hole with a piece of electrical tape incase I need to do it again in the future.

I replaced mine a couple months ago. I buy my parts through work. I just tell them the company name when they ask what to put on the bill. The TPS was about $10 cheaper at the dealer than at Napa. It pays to shop around.
