Tps

the check engine light on my 95 came on when i started it this morning. checked it using the key on off on off on way and it came up 24 which is tps voltage to high or low. also the volt meter isnt going above 12v. havent had a chance to get a volt meter on it yet. just wanted to see if any one thought it could be adjusted or cleaned, or is it just dead when a code comes up.

I thought the key cycle code reader didn't work on any thing prior to 2000?
Is your trans shifting funny?
The low voltage could be a alt problem.

the key thing works on 94-96 as well. the trans isnt locking up like it used to, but seems to be shifting fine. it came up with a code for the tps i cant remember where i read it but if theres a problem with the tps it doesent let the alt charge.

press and hold your trip meter button in

turn on ignition , off , on, off , on leave on at this point and release the trip meter button .
it should now go through a checking cycle for app 30 sec you will see the speedo and tack stop at several locations during cycle .
