Re:TIMING

If you are mechanically minded, then setting the timing is pretty straight forward. Having said that, you will need a set of timing tools to do the job. Snap-On sells a set under the part number SP500. If you don't have a factory service manual, Dave Fritz has the instructions on his web site:
http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1994/18-10-94a.htm

Note that you will have to determine the pump plunger lift for your model year. Good luck, Marc

Re:TIMING

Piers has a lift chart on his web site. The tools and TSB that MDKram refers too are what I used and it is a lot easier that it seems. Depending where you are located you may find someone in your area that could help.
Bruce

Re:TIMING

I heard there was a small **** in the side of the pump housing. You just turn it up or down depending on what power level you want. I think it is marked in HP increments from 200-1000.

Dail your way to happiness I have never looked , but was told this by Dr Performance. I think a bunch of other guys were too.

Don~

Re:TIMING

There is no **** to turn, follow the instructions on the dodgeram site of Dave Fritz's. OR, find an experienced tuner with a pulse box and have them do it in a quarter of the time.

Re:TIMING

Well I have a 4k gov kit on my truck and I decided to tighten the gov springs down a little more so that I could hit 4600 rpms ;D Yeah yeah your going to blow you engine. Well Its my money and I like it. One problem. what is the highest I can bump my timing up to with the stock head gasket? I have heard 19 was a good place to put it and thats where I plan on timing it to unless anyone can think of reason why not.
Thanks

Re:TIMING

Timming wasnt the only thing that contributed to the 2 blown head gaskets it was 50+ pounds of boost way to many times. The first time it blew I had stock timming.
