Time for 3rd sensor
Time for 3rd sensor
Well looks like trans temp sensor #2 decided to quit working replaced 1sensor about 3 weeks ago and then another one last tuesday and 500 miles later back up under truck with 1k resistor.
Ive heard of guys going thrugh 4 sensors or so but could it be something else? Truck shifts great stays locked in OD just like it should w/ resitor in. Any Ideas other than take this one back and try again.

I've had a lot trouble with pressure type electronic sensors going out but never with temp sensors.
First make sure it's hooked up right, probably is if it reads.
My bet is you are getting cheap ones that just can't stand up to diesel vibrations. As long as you're getting new ones for free keep at it, you just might get one that lasts eventually.

I have had this trouble with the dealer supplied sensors too
Last time after going thru 3 sensors the service manager told me theres something wrong with my truck.....and he would no longer replace the sensor for free unless they checked my truck out to find the problem (at my cost)
After a long nasty talk with the service manager and the dealership owner about these sensors I got the district manager involved......its been 9 months without a resolve from the district manager
So 9 months ago I just put 10K resister in place of the sensor and haven't had any troubles since
