starter wont fit
so im in the process of putting a nv5600 behind my 12 valve that used to be an auto and i have the engine and trans together but the starter runs into the ring gear on the fly wheel when i try to put it in just wondering what might have gone wrong. it seems like the ring gear is closer to the engine now than when i had the automatic set up connected to the engine

Need a spacer. You could probably get one from the dealer, or call Southbend. I needed one when I put my dual disc in.

NV5600 with 4.88's, wow, what house do you want to drag down the road. I'll assume some 225/70-19.5's on that beast, too.
as stated, dealer or Southbend, pretty common part. |
thanks for the replies i cant get a hold of anyone at south bend and the dealer said they didn't have a spacer but i could make one myself if i knew the correct width the spacer should be. anybody have that info?

im in the same boat, i got one coming from the local cummins dealer... the parts guy this morning told me that it was 14.5 mm thick.
|
can anyone confirm the thickness or maybe have the part number from the dealer?

If getting one from the dealer make sure you ask for the year truck w/ the 6spd in.
I would suggest calling your local cummins dealers And I think it was .5" |
