Stacks and EGT's?
Stacks and EGT's?
Currently I have a muffler, no cat, and single 3" stack. Went from no muffler, dumped ahead of rearend, 4" from where muffler was supposed to be. Egt's went from 600 to 1000 when I installed the stack. Was flat cut on top, so slash cut it-EGT,s dropped to 800. Now, would I be better off with dual 3" stacks or single 4" (have enuff junk layin around to do one or the other) This should drop EGT's, no?
thanks for any info

[glow=blue, 4, 400]I WANT STACKS![/glow]

Can't wait till I get my 5" Bull Hauler Stacks! But performance BOMB's come first! :'( ;D

Wish I knew where to find this one piece Y-pipe! Posted but the guy hasn't answered me yet!
Re:Stacks and EGT's?
Mark that Ypiece is nice but I priced them and they were around 120-150 bucks. I said the heck with that and made my own by welding a piece of pipe onto the side of the pipe that lays across the bed. Then I cut the hole in the bed and ran it down to the downpipe.
works great but you already know that.
DM01
Yeah unless I can get the parts SUPER cheap I'm gonna try the Rob Thomas method Aaron. 4" Square tubing in the bed with reducers welded in to go from the 5" stacks to the 4" tubing. Providing I can get the tubing fairly cheap it should work. I do however have a friend in KY right now watching the big rig junkyards because he says he comes across the stuff I need often.
DM01
Oh yeah Aaron that T-pipe one of the guys on TDR dida custom job on it. Tig welded the T pipe, excess pipe, and 90* elbows, then ground the welds and painted it. Looks sweet! He said he could make more, but shipping would probably be a PITA!
I'm gonna try and get a line on some 4" square tubing.
