Spare Lift Pump a good idea?

A local guy is selling a new lift pump for my P7100
for $125

Is this a part that is likely to fail? I'm calling Cummins/Dodge to check on the price but wonder if its worth having one
thanks

Oops, called Dodge and when I found out they have changed that part to inside the tank, I'm going to pick this one up.
Sounds like a lot easier to replace

Does this sound right?

Alright, sorry, I totally jumped the gun

The dealer told me that the pump has been changed to inside the tank,
but thats only for VP44 pumps, not mine

And there's no shortage of lift pumps for my truck, and the price is same as a new pump locally,
so not a good deal.

I should do my homework better next time, but thought if it was a good deal i might lose the opportunity ..
as happened recently with a clutch

$89?
My dealer wants $87 for the line going off AFC to manifold; local cummins dealer couldn't find the part and sent me to the dealer

for the price of a lift pump, I can get one short piece of tubing--replacing it with metal, I think the original might have been stiff plastic?
And no telling if ferrules are included or not, they weren't really sure..
Guess I need to do some shopping on line...

12v lift pumps are very reliable an not worth keeping a spare unless we find out they are stopping production.

The line between the AFC housing and the manifold is basically 1/8" airline. About $10 in parts from local shop if you replace the plastic and the 2 brass fittings which are npt.
