Exclamation socket for rear yoke on dana 80

im having trouble finding a socket to fit the nut on the yoke on the dana 80 in my 95 dodge. does anyone know a brand of socket that is thin enough wall to fit in the yoke? mine are to thick and i cant get the nut off to change out my pinion shaft. thanks!

They made changes on that yolk depending on the year. That is why some fit and some don't. I had to machine down a socket. I bought one from Craftsman for 40.00 or so and machined it. Snap on makes a special one for about 88.00 bucks!!

I would get one from Harbor Freight they are cheap and doesn't hurt do grind down a Made in China socket as much

Plain jane 3/4" drive chrome socket worked for me. Obviously an impact socket won't fit in there.

Have you tried a 12 point socket ?? (they tend to have thinner walls that the 6 point ones)

im gonna see what harbor frieght has and see if i can find something and grind it down. i did try a 3/4 inch drive cheap chrome socket but it would need a lot of grinding, and it wasnt my socket.
