smarty as a code reader?

smarty as a code reader?
will the smarty for the 24 valves work on a 98 12 valve to check the pcm codes. ant lock brake light is on and every one wants 100$ or more to check codes. i know the engine doesnt have an ecm like the 24valves do also

Is it just the ABS? or is the "BRAKE" light on as well?
Either way, it could be the sensor at the top of your diff. in the rear.
And to answer your question, no - the Smarty won't work.
