What seals the imput shaft for NV4500? Is there a seal and silicone or what? I have BAD leak coming from that area, trans needs attention ASAP!

yes there is a seal...4 bolts hold it in, can't miss em. Pull the 4 bolts and you'll see what to do from there.

 

Yea, that sucks because u have to take the trans out to seal up. Mine has a slow drip from the output seal that I should replace soon because it's dripping liquid gold ($20 a quart, lol).

 

Remove the 4 bolts and put pressure on the input so that it dose not come out and remove the retainer. If the input slides out you can drop the bearings between the input and main down in the case. Once you have it off you can remove the seal and replace it with Federal Mogul part # 714655 and then reinstall with a little sealer on the tranny and on the bolts. Make sure that the hole on the back of the retainer is to the top ot the bearing will not get any oil. Lots of work to get to a 2 min fix. It can be done with the bell on the trans.
