Whats that noise?
At about 65-70 mhp on the interstate I've got a bad droaning and roaring kind of noise. It has just started in the last couple of months. I know my transmission is going bad, could that be it? Change of subject. Can anyone in the Birmingham Alabama area help me with the kdp, I'm not too sure i want to tackle it alone. Thanks for all the help

Re:Whats that noise?
Have you changed your exhaust or is it stock.
Straight pipes and some aftermarket pipes have a drone at about 2200 rpms.
If you have 3:55 gears that is the rpm range you would be at with the speed you described.

I've got a similar problem still trying to find. If it's the tires then you should have the same droan when coasting in neutral (you may have to find a hill to keep up speed). If it disappears when coasting then could be tranny or may even be cooling fan clutch going south. Just some thoughts.

Re:Whats that noise?
If none of these suggestions work, I had a similar noise in my truck. Thought my rear end was goin bad turned out to be my carrier bearing. Started makin a slight roaring noise then after about year and a half it got worse. Replaced the worn out carrier bearing and no more noise at all.
