So being the truck is a northeast truck and it plows, it is pretty rusty. I really want to do something with the engine. All the steel lines, injector lines, water lines, etc, the delivery valve area, etc, etc.. is rusty. Ultimately, I'd love to pull the engine, strip it down and redo everything but I don't think that's going to happen for a while So I'm curious to know what others have done if anything and what the options are... Thanks !

Sounds crazy, but it's the best advice.

 

Not much you can do about rust. Treat it with rust converter and it still comes back. You can spray penetrating oil, paraffin or rust converter stuff into the fenders by removing the turn signals front and rear. access inside the rocker panels from the body plugs behind.
Eastwoodco.com has a pile of rust-preventative stuff. thats usually where I buy mine.
VHT makes some rollbar + chassis epoxy paint in a rattle can thats really good I blasted the frame down behind the coil spring and sprayed that stuff right on the bare metal. its been there a year with no rust. Its not even a 2-part paint, so thats real good from an uncatalyzed paint

 

From Ct and have the same year truck and this is also killing me! If I could I would by all of the lines and replace them one at a time. But I have checked and know one makes any sort of kit. Sooooooo it's one at a time for now and as far as the body goes just go out and by a whole box off of a totaled truck that is newer with no rust that's what I did. Still no way around the cab though going to have to do the work here......If you find any kit's let me know,so far no luck here...
